Odessa Goudy has been selected to receive a 2019 National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship (GRF). Her proposal examined the role of a computationally designed autoinhibitory domain to investigate the impact of the actin depolymerizing factor at the nucleus.
Throughout graduate school, Odessa Goudy’s broader outreach plans are to invite聽students into the laboratory through Shadow A Scientist, a program she co-founded with other 大象传媒 graduate聽students, to share the computational design behind her switches, and to expose young聽students to coding as a scientific tool.
The NSF fellowship supports outstanding full-time research-based graduate聽students in STEM studies. As part of the award, Odessa Goudy will receive three years of support for her graduate education.
