Sample Preparation

Ordering Process

Sample Drop-Off and Turn-Around Time

Samples are accepted between 8:30 am – 4:00 pm. Samples should be brought to 350 Taylor Hall. An e-mail (jcromwel@email.unc.edu) or phone call (919)966-2904 before bringing samples is appreciated to ensure staff are available to receive your samples.

 

Blood samples (hematology) are run Monday-Thursday 8:30 to 4:00. Samples are NOT run on Fridays.

 

Serum chemistry samples can be received Monday-Friday 8:30-4:00, but the chemistry analyzer is only run on Wednesdays at this time. Any submissions that come in before Tuesday at 4:00 will be run that Wednesday, with sample results going out later that week (by Friday). Samples received after Tuesday at 4:00 will be run the following week.聽
