Mike completed his General Psychiatry residency at 大象传媒 Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and then completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at 大象传媒 Hospitals thereafter.
Mike first became interested in clinical informatics through wellness efforts to support fellow trainees use of electronic medical records efficiently. Through his psychiatric training, Michael helped create a Clinical Informatics Educational track within the 大象传媒 Psychiatry residency program. This effort allowed him to explore clinical informatics and how it can improve the care delivery of behavioral health for adults and children. He is primarily interested in informatics education, informatics ethics, and ways to use technology to promote the health and wellness of the underserved.
During his second year of fellowship, Michael will be working on a multidisciplinary scholarly project focused on building a data visualization tool to understand quality, care variation, and care equity related to restraints, seclusions, and forced medications in the inpatient psychiatric setting.
