Core Access
The 大象传媒 Flow Cytometry Facility is open to all 大象传媒-CH investigators. Additionally, we welcome investigators from outside institutions, including Duke University, NC State University, and companies within the Research Triangle Park (RTP). Access is managed on a first-come, first-served basis via iLabs.
Access to the Facility鈥檚 services requires an iLab account, linked to the laboratory鈥檚 Principal Investigator.
Steps to Register:

Non-sorting, analysis-only flow cytometers are available for use in two ways:
- Facility Staff-Operated Use:
- Facility staff will operate instruments for you. You must remain present at the instrument to consult as needed.
- For recurring sample types, a 鈥渄rop-off鈥 service is available. Consult with staff if interested.
- User-Operated Use:
- Investigators may operate instruments at a reduced cost, but training is required for each instrument type.
- Training must be conducted by Facility staff solely and includes individual help sessions to ensure proficiency.
- Note: Operating instruments is only recommended for users with substantial anticipated usage, as infrequent operation may lead to data quality issues.
- Users may schedule their own instrument time unless Facility staff participation is required.
All sorting instruments are operated by Facility staff, with the exception of the FACSMelody, which is available for trained users to independently sort non-biohazardous cells.
- Human samples must be sorted exclusively on the FACSAria II or FACSymphony S6 by Facility staff.
- A copy of your Schedule F is required for any biohazardous materials brought into the core.
Contact Facility staff for training or questions.
The Facility Director is available to assist with any flow cytometry needs. To schedule a consultation, please call or email the Facility for an appointment.
