Additionally, we welcome investigators from outside institutions, including Duke University, NC State University, and companies within the Research Triangle Park (RTP). You must remain present at the instrument to consult as needed.<\/li>\n<li>For recurring sample types, a \u201cdrop-off\u201d service is available. Consult with staff if interested.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>User-Operated Use:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Investigators may operate instruments at a reduced cost, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/flowcytometry\/core-access-scheduling\/training-1\/\"><strong>training is required<\/strong><\/a> for each instrument type.<\/li>\n<li>Training must be conducted by Facility staff solely and includes individual help sessions to ensure proficiency.<\/li>\n<li>Note: Operating instruments is only recommended for users with substantial anticipated usage, as infrequent operation may lead to data quality issues.<\/li>\n<li>Users may schedule their own instrument time unless Facility staff participation is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n        \n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"panel panel-default oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n    <div id=\"panel-heading-details-0-2\" class=\"panel-heading oscitas-bootstrap-container\" role=\"tab\">\n\n        <h2 class=\"panel-title oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n            <button class=\"accordion-toggle oscitas-bootstrap-container collapsed\" \n                id = \"button-details-0-2\"\n                data-toggle=\"collapse\"\n                data-parent=\"#unc-accordion-0\"    \n                aria-controls=\"#details-0-2\"  \n                aria-expanded=\"false\" \n                href=\"#details-0-2\">\n                <\/p>\n<h2><strong>Sorting Services<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>            <\/button>\n\n        <\/h2>\n\n    <\/div>\n\n    <div id=\"details-0-2\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse  oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n        <div class=\"panel-body oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n<p>All sorting instruments are operated by Facility staff, with the exception of the <strong>FACSMelody<\/strong>, which is available for trained users to independently sort <strong>non-biohazardous cells<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Human samples must be sorted exclusively on the <strong>FACSAria II<\/strong> or <strong>FACSymphony S6<\/strong> by Facility staff.<\/li>\n<li>A copy of your <strong>Schedule F<\/strong> is required for any biohazardous materials brought into the core.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Contact Facility staff for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/flowcytometry\/core-access-scheduling\/training-1\/\">training<\/a> or questions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n        \n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"panel panel-default oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n    <div id=\"panel-heading-details-0-3\" class=\"panel-heading oscitas-bootstrap-container\" role=\"tab\">\n\n        <h2 class=\"panel-title oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n            <button class=\"accordion-toggle oscitas-bootstrap-container collapsed\" \n                id = \"button-details-0-3\"\n                data-toggle=\"collapse\"\n                data-parent=\"#unc-accordion-0\"    \n                aria-controls=\"#details-0-3\"  \n                aria-expanded=\"false\" \n                href=\"#details-0-3\">\n                <\/p>\n<h2><strong>Consultation<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>            <\/button>\n\n        <\/h2>\n\n    <\/div>\n\n    <div id=\"details-0-3\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse  oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n        <div class=\"panel-body oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n<p>The Facility Director is available to assist with any flow cytometry needs. To schedule a consultation, please call or email the Facility for an appointment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>First-Time User Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Review the website for Facility rules and an overview of flow cytometry.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarize yourself with relevant protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Discuss your needs and feasibility with the Facility Director or staff.<\/li>\n<li>Schedule an appointment with the Facility (<a href=\"mailto:uncflowcyto@med.unc.edu\"><strong>Contact Us<\/strong><\/a>).
