Kathleen Barnhouse, MD, has been named the 大象传媒鈥檚 assistant dean of preclinical curriculum. She will begin her work in the role on June 1. Barnhouse is an associate professor of family medicine and a family medicine physician at the 大象传媒 Family Medicine Center in Chapel Hill.
In her new role, Barnhouse will oversee the preclinical curriculum in the School of Medicine, work to improve basic science integration in the application and individualization phases, and lead efforts in continuous quality improvement in the preclinical medical school curriculum. She has been intimately involved in the curriculum development of TEC 2.0, the new foundation phase curriculum.
She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Wayne State University. Her clinical interests include full spectrum outpatient care, care for vulnerable populations including those with severe mental illness, and inpatient medicine.
