About

Dr. Gillespie is a board-certified nephrologist who is currently a Vice President at Fortrea (formerly known as Labcorp Drug Development) and the Therapeutic Head of Nephrology, supporting sponsors on the development of new drugs and devices for CKD and ESRD patients. She is on the Board of Directors at NephCure, and at the Kidney Health Initiative, a public-private partnership between the FDA and American Society of Nephrology. She is a past Associate Medical Director at a local dialysis unit, completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of North Carolina and her nephrology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.
She has/or is serving on a several KHI Workgroups: Surrogate Endpoints for IgA Nephropathy/ FSGS/ C3G, APOL1 Mediated Kidney Diseases (Steering Committee), Pediatric IgAN, and Barriers to CKD patient participation in CV Trials. She is also involved in several efforts, including the NKF CKD Patient Registry/ 鈥淧atient Network鈥 (steering committee), NephCure鈥檚 Membranous Nephropathy Scientific Workshop (steering committee), NKF/FDA Workshop on Treatments for Early Stages of Common CKD (Workgroup Co-Chair, Dec 2020), invited faculty on NKF Workshops on Renal Endpoints (2018), and SGLT2-I (2019), Prepare NS (Stakeholder Engagement Group), NephCure/FDA GD Trials Collaborative (Workgroup Co-Chair),大象传媒鈥檚 PCORI grant on Building Research Capacity in Dialysis (Stakeholder Advisory Board), SONG Initiative (invited participant for GD and Peds), and Regional Medical Ad Board for NKF.
