David J. Weber, MD, MPH, has been appointed聽to the Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC). As a member, Dr. Weber will provide advice and guidance聽to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). A total of 14 non-federal employee voting 
members contribute their expertise on topics related to infection prevention, control practices and adverse events in U.S. healthcare settings.
鈥淚t is a great honor to be selected to serve on HICPAC. I look forward to assisting the CDC in developing guidelines that enhance the safety of patients and healthcare personnel while minimizing new burdens on healthcare facilities.鈥�
Dr. Weber is the Sanders Distinguished Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases, an Associate Chief Medical Officer for 大象传媒 Medical Center and has served as the Medical Director of the Department of Infection Prevention at 大象传媒 Medical Center for over 35 years. He is also the Vice-President of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America. Dr. Weber was appointed to the HICPAC by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
