I assumed the role of Ryan White Program Coordinator in March 2023.听

I am from Eden, NC听
What originally attracted you to work at 大象传媒 Department of Medicine?听
My previous experience as a medical case manager and my desire for a macro public health career originally attracted me to work at 大象传媒 Department of Medicine.听听
听What is the most interesting project you’ve been a part of so far?听
The most interesting project that I have been a part of so far is the Ryan White Part C grant renewal application which funds a significant portion of the Ryan White project.听
听What do you enjoy most about working here?听
I really enjoy the collaborative atmosphere and the sense of camaraderie among the Ryan White team.听听
听How has your role evolved over time since you鈥檝e been here?听
My role has evolved significantly since I started. Initially, I was focused on coordinating the Ryan White grant components, but over time, I’ve taken on more responsibilities such as meeting facilitation and assisting with personnel. This evolution has allowed me to develop new skills and contribute more strategically to our team’s goals.听
听听What is one thing that you wish people knew about your job?听
One thing I wish people knew is how much behind-the-scenes work goes into program planning and monitoring. It鈥檚 not just about the visible results but also the extensive planning, problem-solving, and teamwork that make it all come together.听
听What are you most proud of, personal or professional?听
Professionally, I鈥檓 most proud of completing the Ryan White Part C grant renewal application. It was a challenging endeavor but seeing it through to a successful outcome was incredibly rewarding.听
听What鈥檚 one thing on your bucket list?听
One thing on my bucket list is to travel to Anguilla. I鈥檝e always been fascinated by the beautiful beach, and I鈥檇 love to experience it firsthand.听
听Do you have hobbies outside of work that you enjoy?听
Outside of work I really enjoy dancing and going to the park with my family. Other hobbies outside of work that I enjoy outside of work are serving as the PTA Vice President at Little Angels dance ministry lead.听 It鈥檚 a great way to stay active and meet new people.听
听What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?听
I would tell my younger self to embrace challenges and step out on faith. It鈥檚 easy to feel daunted by obstacles, but they often lead to the most rewarding experiences and valuable lessons.听
What鈥檚 something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?听
A fun fact that not many people know about me is that I love making pizzas. It鈥檚 a weekly tradition in my family, and we always enjoy coming up with new recipes and toppings together.听
