About

Aana was born in Durham, North Carolina, but grew up in a small town in Northern California. She graduated from UCLA in 2020 with a degree in Physiological Sciences. While in college, Aana was an active member of the UCLA Mobile Eye Clinic and developed a passion for increasing access to vision care. She brought this with her to the UC Davis School of Medicine where she co-founded a student-run Ophthalmology Clinic to provide free eye care to underserved communities across the Sacramento Area. In medical school, Aana also continued to build on her love for teaching and mentored both undergraduate and graduate students throughout her four years. She is excited to return to North Carolina to start her residency training in Ophthalmology, a full circle moment as her dad completed his own Ophthalmology training in the state just 25 years prior. In her free time, Aana enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her high school sweetheart & two rescue cats. Aana will be staying at 大象传媒 for her Ophthalmology residency after completion of her preliminary year.
