Alisa Suen-Wallach, MD, PhD
About
Alisa graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Chemistry. From there, she came to 大象传媒 where she completed her PhD in Toxicology. Her PhD work focused on the role of estrogen-responsive homeobox transcription factor SIX1 in cancer pathogenesis. After obtaining her PhD, she worked for three years as a postdoctoral research fellow at the US EPA and NIEHS in Durham with work that focused on developing an endometrial organoid model to better understand endometrial carcinogenesis. As a medical student, she has continued with her interest in science and research, serving as a TA for the Histology course, co-chairing the MSTP case conference series, and working with our Dermatology faculty on several research projects. Alisa has been actively involved in the SHAC student clinic where she served as a coordinator. In recognition of her outstanding academic performance, Alisa was inducted into the AOA Honor Society. Alisa is planning on pursuing a career in Dermatology after completion of her preliminary year
