Shivani is from New Jersey but has called North Carolina home for the past 18 years. She has had a strong interest in quality improvement and health equity as well as teaching and is currently a member of the Medical Education Scholarly Concentration Program at the 大象传媒. She has been an active volunteer with SHAC, serving as a medical team senior for the student clinic. She also was selected to work as a tutor with more junior medical students and previously served as co-president of the IM student interest group. Shivani has an active interest in research and is a member of the John B. Graham Research Society at 大象传媒. She has been engaged for three years in research aimed at understanding and decreasing the observed inequities for patients with postpartum hemorrhages. Her QI work that led to a Postpartum Hemorrhage Checklist was recognized with a Research Carolina Quality and Safety Award.
