Yainira is from Puerto Rico and graduated from 大象传媒 with a degree in Chemistry. Yainira has been actively involved in multiple service and leadership activities as a medical student, including serving as a curriculum student representative, working as a clinic organizer for the Enlace Volunteering Group to provide day clinics to various underserved areas across PR, and leading the Social Medica student interest group. She also helped to create the Disease Club, a club for weekly case discussions for medical students, and has been productive in research focused on the complex interplay of HIV infection and addiction physiology. In recognition of her outstanding academic performance, Yainira was inducted into the AOA Honor Society
