Epilepsy, Intractable epilepsy, Epilepsy surgery, Epilepsy in LIMC

My clinical and research focus lies within the field of epilepsy, specifically in the medical and surgical management of this condition. I am deeply interested in exploring and enhancing various techniques and strategies that can significantly improve the quality of life for patients suffering from epilepsy.

One of my primary areas of interest is the use of neurostimulators for managing epilepsy. This includes deep brain stimulation (DBS), responsive neurostimulation (RNS), and vagus nerve stimulation (VNS). These innovative technologies offer great potential for reducing the frequency and severity of seizures in patients who are not responsive to medication, and I am committed to furthering our understanding and application of these devices.

In addition to this, I am actively involved in drug trials and the development of new surgical techniques. I believe that continuous research and innovation in these areas are crucial to advancing the field of epilepsy treatment. I am particularly interested in evaluating the efficacy and safety of emerging anti-epileptic drugs and pioneering surgical interventions.

Furthermore, I am dedicated to improving epilepsy care in resource-limited regions. In these areas, access to effective treatment and management strategies is often inadequate, leading to a lower quality of life for patients with epilepsy. I am committed to conducting research and implementing programs that can help bridge this gap and ensure that individuals in these regions receive the comprehensive care they need.

Overall, my clinical and research focus is centered on improving and expanding treatment options for epilepsy, with a special emphasis on neurostimulation technologies, drug trials, new surgical techniques, and epilepsy care in resource-limited regions.
