What is PRISM?聽
大象传媒 PRISM is a School of Medicine training program for students who have recently completed their Bachelor鈥檚 degree (Post-Baccalaureates or 鈥淧ostbacs鈥) and wish to pursue a career in the Biomedical Sciences or Medicine. The goal of PRISM is to prepare students in the sciences for entry and success in top Biomedical PhD programs or Medical Schools. Students spend 1-2 years at 大象传媒 Chapel Hill gaining valuable research experience, taking relevant graduate-level coursework, and participating in professional development activities tailored to their specific needs. Trainee funding is provided by the host lab or PI.聽聽
Three PRISM cohorts will launch throughout the year: Spring Cohort (January start date), Summer Cohort (June start date), and Fall Cohort (August start date).聽聽

Eligibility
- Applicants must be a recent baccalaureate graduate from an accredited U.S. University in the biomedical or behavioral sciences. Applicants should be a college graduate who received a bachelor’s degree within approximately 2 years of beginning the program.聽
- Must be ready to commit a minimum of 1 year as a full-time student in a participating lab or research group at 大象传媒 Chapel Hill.聽
- Must have a 大象传媒 faculty member, lab, or research group committed to hiring and funding the research opportunity.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.聽
Support and Opportunities for PRISM Students
- A stipend of $34,000 during the first year, $35,000 if a second year is pursued.
- and tuition to support taking a graduate level course. 聽
- Career development workshops and support for preparing to apply and interview for graduate school and medical school is included.
