The Muenzer MPS Research and Treatment Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was\u00a0<\/span>established<\/span>\u00a0to advance research, treatment, and support for individuals with Mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) and related lysosomal storage disorders. Founded in\u00a0<\/span><\/span>November 2022<\/span><\/span><\/span>, the Center was developed under the leadership of Dr. Joseph Muenzer, a pioneering expert in MPS, with a mission to address the complex needs of MPS patients and their families. Although the new clinic space was unveiled in November 2024, the Muenzer MPS Center team has been active in clinical care and clinical trials for MPS for many years.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Our center offers the following specialized services through consultations:<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The generous $10 million gift from Vaughn and Nancy Bryson, both 1960 graduates of ΄σΟσ΄«Γ½\u2019s School of Pharmacy, will\u00a0<\/span>establish<\/span>\u00a0the Dr. Joseph Muenzer MPS Research & Treatment Center. This center will focus on developing comprehensive care strategies for individuals affected by MPS. The Bryson<\/span><\/span>\u00a0family<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>committed $2.5 million to the University in 2021, later increasing their pledge to $10 million.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n
