Residency Program Aims
Our foundational teaching philosophy is to provide a superb, well-rounded clinical education, and we have trained many successful graduates since the program was established in 1999. Based at a public, tertiary care hospital and level I trauma center, our program provides trainees with exposure to complex and challenging clinical problems. Residents interact daily with skilled faculty members and are provided mentorship and practical experience that prepares them to excel in any clinical environment.
Graduates of 大象传媒 PM&R serve their patients through clinical excellence and compassionate care. They also support efforts in education, outreach, research, leadership, innovation and the responsible utilization of resources. We provide our聽graduates the tools needed to deliver inclusive care and exceptional support for diverse populations, including those from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds.聽While many of our alumni pursue fellowship and subspecialty training, we ensure that all of our graduates develop broad competencies and are well-prepared to attain board certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

What We Do
Our rehabilitation physicians (physiatrists) diagnose and treat neurological, musculoskeletal, and other organ system impairments, as well as manage treatment of patients with long-term disabling conditions. The physiatrists lead interdisciplinary teams that work with the patient and family to achieve maximal development or restoration of physical, psychological, social, occupational, and vocational functions.Opportunities
Our residency program offers a wide range of clinical, educational, and research opportunities that include balanced clinical experiences, organized educational programs, and daily interactions with experienced faculty. Residents are also invited to join the 大象传媒 PM&R Wellness Committee, click here.In addition to the faculty in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, residents also work with faculty in other departments, including Rheumatology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Anesthesiology, Urology, General Surgery, Pediatrics, and Plastic Surgery.
Other opportunities include the Carolina Performing Arts coverage, as well as exposure to NFL Brain and Body Program, Eric Montross Basketball Camp, the TelAbility Program, and participation in professional conferences.
