大象传媒 Hospitals is a Level 1 trauma center with multiple hospitals on-site including our state-of-the-art Lineberger Cancer Center, North Carolina Women鈥檚 Hospital, North Carolina Children鈥檚 Hospital, and North Carolina Neurosciences Hospital. Our department also services 大象传媒 Hospitals Hillsborough Campus and multiple off-site imaging centers and clinics. At 大象传媒, we provide complex care to patients from all over the state, allowing for a large volume of studies and a breadth of pathology to learn. This combined with independent overnight call allows our residents to leave 大象传媒 well versed in all radiologic subspecialties and confident in their abilities to interpret high volume and complex imaging.

Applying to 大象传媒
All candidates must apply and participate according to NRMP (National Resident Matching Program) guidelines. The 2022-2023 Matching Program dates are listed on NRMP鈥檚 2022-2023 Match Calendar.We have nine R1 positions available for the 2023-2024 appointment year. One IR-1 position is reserved for individuals dually applying to 大象传媒鈥檚 Integrated IR residency program. Three positions are available for individuals applying to 大象传媒鈥檚 Independent IR residency program.
Your ERAS-submitted application will be reviewed by our Residency Recruitment Committee upon receipt of your application with personal statement, medical school transcript, USMLE scores, and a minimum of three (3) letters of reference (LOR). A maximum of four LORs may be assigned.

FOREIGN GRADUATES: ALL graduates of foreign medical schools must be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. All alien foreign graduates must meet all VISA Qualifying Examination (VQE) or Foreign Medical Graduate Exam in the Medical Sciences (FMGEMS) requirements prior to application. Per the University of North Carolina Graduate Medical Education Policy on Visas, University of North Carolina Hospitals will accept resident physicians who have been issued a J-1 Visa and who hold a current ECFMG Certificate. H1-B visas are not sponsored at University of North Carolina Hospitals.
