Dr. Sara Duffus has been named Associate Director of Medical Education in Pediatrics. Dr. Duffus is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology. Her role as associate director will include co-leadership of the Pediatrics Clerkship, recruitment and retainment of outpatient pediatric preceptors, integration of pediatric curricula within the School of Medicine, pediatric career goal advising, and mentorship of trainees interested in medical education.

Priyanka Rao, MD was promoted to Associate Professor of Pediatrics effective June 1, 2024. Dr. Rao has been a faculty member in Pediatrics since August 2020. Dr. Rao received her undergraduate degree from ´óÏó´«Ã½ Chapel Hill in 2008 and earned her medical degree in 2013 from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa. Before returning to ´óÏó´«Ã½, she served as a Neonatal Hospitalist at the University of Michigan C.S., Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Congratulations Priyanka!

Arshiya Ahuja, MD was promoted to Associate Professor of Pediatrics effective May 1, 2025. Dr. Ahuja completed her pediatric residency at Loyola University in June 2014 and a fellowship in Global Clinical Education in 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Ahuja went on to serve as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ before coming to ´óÏó´«Ã½ in 2021. Congratulations!

Matthew Vogt, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Microbiology & Immunology, leads one of three interdisciplinary teams of ´óÏó´«Ã½ researchers to have been selected for the 2024–25 Translational Team Science Awards. Each team will receive $50,000 in phase one funding to launch innovative pilot projects that bring together basic science and clinical expertise.
