About Us
The 大象传媒 Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine is a group of health care providers who:
- Have expertise in comprehensive health care of children from birth to early adult years.
- In addition to primary care, provide subspecialty care in Adolescent Medicine, Child Abuse Pediatrics, and Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. Our generalists also have specific expertise in caring for children with medical complexity.
- Perform important research across a wide range of topics including the social and contextual factors that shape health outcomes, health equity and other health services research.
- Teach foundational concepts in pediatrics care to students, residents and fellow trainees.
- Advocate for policy changes that will improve the health and wellbeing of children, adolescents and their families.
Our Vision
We will transform health, well-being, and health care delivery for children, adolescents, and young adults as a leader in whole-person care. We will provide and increase access to high quality, interdisciplinary, and comprehensive patient- and family-centered care that optimizes the development, safety, and well-being of children and adolescents. Our innovative teaching, groundbreaking research, and advocacy to improve policy will lead to greater health equity for children and adolescents.

Sarkissian Promoted to Associate Professor of Pediatrics
Aliese Sarkissian, MD, MBOE was promoted to Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Rheumatology, effective June 1, 2025. Dr. Sarkissian has been a faculty member in Pediatrics since August 2018. Dr. Sarkissian received a BA in Biology from DePauw University in Greencastle, IN in 2006 and a post graduate MS in Biology from Indiana University Purdue University in 2007. She earned her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis in 2012. Dr. Sarkissian completed her Pediatric residency at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 2015. A fellowship in Pediatric Rheumatology was completed at Nationwide Children鈥檚 Hospital in 2018. She also holds a MBOE from the Ohio State University Fisher College of Business which was earned in 2017.

Welcome New Clinical Provider: Katlin Yokeley, MSN, CPNP-PC/AC
Katlin Yokeley joined the Division of General Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine in May 2025 as the newest member of the Child Maltreatment Team. Elaina received her BS from Appalachian State University in 2008 and her BSN from North Carolina Central University in 2012. She earned her MSN from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2020. She has previously worked as a PICU nurse and has also worked as a nurse practitioner in pediatric neurology. Welcome Katie!

Allison Promoted to Associate Professor of Pediatrics
Bianca Allison, MD, MPH was promoted to Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of General Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, effective May 1, 2025. Dr. Allison has been a faculty member in Pediatrics since July 2021. Dr. Allison received her BA in Social Anthropology from Harvard University in 2010 and earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in 2016. A Pediatric residency was completed at 大象传媒 Chapel Hill in 2019 and a National Research Service Award fellowship was completed at 大象传媒 in 2021. Dr. Allison’s research focuses on the provision of equitable, developmentally tailored sexual and reproductive healthcare to adolescents. Congratulations!

Welcome New Clinical Provider: Rebecca Arango, MSN, PNP
Rebecca Arango joined the Division of General Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine in April 2025 as the newest member of the Complex Care team. Rebecca received her BSN from University of Virginia in 2012 and earned her MSN as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Old Dominion University in May 2024. Rebecca brings wonderful experience from prior nursing roles, including in 大象传媒’s PICU. Welcome Rebecca!
